History
Immaculate Conception School has a long tradition of excellence in Catholic education. The school was established in 1862 by Jesuit Father Francis Deneckere. In 1899, three Sisters of Christian Charity came to teach in the school. The Sisters of Mercy staffed the school from1913 until 1994. From 1994 until July 1998, the school was administered by a Sister of St. Joseph of Chestnut Hill, Pennsylvania.
Presently, the school is administered by a certified lay person, and is staffed by a dedicated, certified faculty. The school primarily serves those who are Catholic, but is open to children of all faiths. In 2005, Immaculate Conception was named "The Governor's Institute Center for Learning" because of the work done and progress made in the area of Early Childhood Education.
